I can Dance!

Been quite busy lately, juggling responsibilities and studies. Too many commitments... at least my life is full of new experiences and challenges.

Our defense is set to be this July 14... and it should not be MOVED! I have an event to attend to after July 14 and I will be VERRRRYYY BUSSYYY!!!

I love dancing. I love to watch people dance. I dance in my dreams.... but in REAL LIFE? It is something I usually avoid. I do dance if it's something slow(during weddings) and the steps are basic... but nothing more.

I managed not to join the "Araw ng Dabaw" dance my school joined and opted as a props person instead to get additional points.

I managed not to join the cheerleading competition which was choreographed by Avy who is a great dancer by the way.

I managed not to join the Recognition Rally presentation last year....

I was a great escape artist you know...... but then the great Secret said...

what you resist, persists.

and I was so sure I can escape and have my thesis as an alibi for not joining this year's presentation... but Oh boy.. was I wrong.

My mom and I had a some kinda "big" fight. She was saying I could do it and all (di naman sa papresyo or whatever... it's just that the fact the rest looks good in dancing ... and I don't is pure torture.). She said.... I should at least join because at least they would see their upline participate and all... and support... ratatata.... ( I have no problem with supporting.. It's the dancing!!!! )

What can I do? My mom wouldn't talk to me at first.... but then I managed to let her talk to me (after crying) and agreeing to join.

I've been hearing this audio CD most of the time.... and it says:

Everyone has the ability to learn ALL SKILLS. Just practice and do it everyday.... until it becomes part of your LIFE. Every skill CAN BE LEARNED.

The above quote kind of boosted me up... that.. I just have to declare everyday... I am great and all and really believing in it. It will take a few weeks of mind setting.. but once it is set... Aww.. everything would be alright. It should.

Dance practice takes up most of my time. It's usually done during mornings and then evenings... and during afternoon, I assist at the counter (seeee... I support dude!) without pay.

and besides practice ain't boring..*wink* It's actually fun.. I get to bond with the "Special Boys" and my Aunt which I call Ate Disay... since she refuses to be called a Tita, saying she is still young and single. Hehe.

Save Mother Earth

As much as I wanted to attend the seminars as stated in my last post Expos, I can't.

For one, the Cyber Expo was cancelled and moved according to my sources.

Also, I did not expect so many people would attend the said food expo, but of course with all the banners they've had strewn almost all over the city, everyone's bound to know. The seminar was jam packed and you'd be left standing outside and even inside a few were standing, so I decided not to go in and give others chance. I went with my mom and enjoyed the food tasting part and of course getting flyers and brochures from them. Most of the expos covered a lot about food packaging and their machineries which were quite expensive,and requires a big-time business.

Fortunately, there was a Directory of Food-Related business or whatsover and a summary of all the seminars which I guess would be enough na lang to get much-needed info's we need for Php100.00. At least.

I also found out that the next event would be the 7th Recycables Fair or something. I don't have the flyer with me today. Anyway, it's a gathering of all those companies who recycles and all those people who does have a collection of recyclables which they can sell outside SM (car park) this June 30. Newspaper, bottles, magazines can be sold per kilo. You earn money and at the same time you get to help the environment. Now, that's something! :)

SM also has this "green bag" scheme almost the same as Culture Shiok's post "the Bring your own Bag Day" that was done by Singapore. Buying yellow tag from the supermarket and reaching 500php or more will let you earn a green bag, which you can use as an alternative instead of the usual cellophane and if you use them when you go to the supermarket you earn additional points to your Advantage Card. Dual purpose again. :P Nice idea noh?

It's been a week, I haven't reported in college. Hehe. I'm busy "kuno" with my OJT. But, really... I AM! Details, some othr time. hehe.rawr.

Expos

Since, we are all adept in "looking for new opportunities" to make money just around the corner or even to look for something new and worthwhile, we can't help but be tempted to attend two expo's that might inspire us to make our own business. If you are from Davao, why not attend one of them?

This week, there would be two expos of different variety.

One is the Davao City Cyber Expo 2007 which is organized by some people I know. The gathering is a three day event from June 22-24, 2007 and will be held at NCCC Mall (Ma-a). They said this is the biggest "tech themed event" in Davao. So... it's a Wow!

If it weren't for Ate Janice who befriended an organizer who happened to pass by our Service Center and gave her an invitation card I would not know about this.

This is the "Food Processing and Packaging Technology Expo 2007" which would be held at Bangko Sentral (Davao City, Philippines) a four day event from June 20-23, 2007 10am-7pm daily.

There are two seminar rooms. So, I can't possibly attend every seminar because I can't be in two places at one time... (and Jhed, if I could have the power this could be one aside from the teleportation thing which would save me money and time... hehe).

So, I am now outlining my "must-attend" seminars which I am interested.. and my organizer will be put to use! Yehey!!!!

Tomorrow, I will attend their "Workshop using Fresh, Frozen and Canned Products for Fresh & Dried Noodle Making with Bonus Recipe: Siopao Making, Kakanin, Puto & Other local Pastries, Pizza-Making, Cooking Rice in Volume for catering, Restaurants & Etc." - Seminar Room A (10am-7pm).

It's a long seminar.... I think I will excuse myself from my one-hour class tomorrow for this. Haha.

For June 21, 2007... I will attend their afternoon session, since I have my Thesis II class which I can't skip. T_T. I wanted to attend the "Innovative Baking" pa naman. Oh well.

4pm-5pm: "Developing Your Own Healthy Fruit & Vegetable Beverages" -Seminar Room B
