Ch-Changes

Change.

They say the only constant thing in this world is CHANGE. Life is all about changes. We cannot simply afford to just slack off when we are comfortable with something or a situation. We all need to GROW and in order to grow, we need to CHANGE. If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies. It is inevitable.

Growth is the only evidence of life. ~John Henry Newman, Apologia pro vita sua, 1864

I've been hearing complaints about the government, in fact when was the last time people stopped complaining and started changing ? I mean yes, the government may have it's faults, and sure we have every right to complain.. but I hope for a change... those people who got nothing to do with their life would stop blaming the government and start changing for the better.

You see, part of what stops people from growing is "complaining". They see other people's faults without seeing theirs. They prefer to blame other people because they cannot afford to take responsibility for their own life.

Changes comes with responsibility. Your life would be better, if you stop complaining and blaming other people for what is happening in your life and start to accept the responsibilities that goes with "human rights". We should be aware that we are all responsible for our own actions. And whatever that is happening in our life is the result of our actions.

Q: So.. how do we effectively change our circumstances? Given that we cannot complain(oh, which is bliss!) and blame it on other people because we are supposed to be responsible for our own actions and circumstances which are the result....?

I'm not really saying that you cannot complain, I'm just pointing out that it's better to do some changing rather than complaining. Its much more productive... and it helps you grow.

Change
starts within. So you will understand clearly why change starts from within.. I will take the example from Bob P. about the mirror images. :)

Take a look at that picture. So, you see a woman with a camera with her reflectionssss. And I mean reflectionssss.

The woman would represent you (never mind that you are a guy, imagine this time you are that woman). The images or the reflections she has has would be the "circumstances" in your life.

Now, you want to change the circumstances, because you are not happy with that result. Where do you think, (in this case the mirror image) would you try to change... "the certain mirror image" or the "woman holding the camera" ?

You see, people are so bent up in trying to change their circumstances, their home, the PEOPLE AROUND THEM, blah and blah except THEMSELVES.... and then when nothing happens they go about complaining nothing is changing.

They want to CHANGE THEIR LIFE... but they do not want to change themselves.

Things do not change, WE CHANGE.

Trying to change the circumstances would be like this "mirror image". You cannot change anything if you try to change the "reflections" of you.

Your circumstances are the reflections of WHO YOU ARE. If you want to change your reflection, do a little shifting of emotions..... listen to your spirit... listen to the voice within.

Before you complain, take a good look at yourself.... and see what needs to be changed inside of you.

Remember:

It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change. ~Author unknown

It's the most unhappy people who most fear change. ~Mignon McLaughlin, The Second Neurotic's Notebook, 1966

since

They must often change, who would be constant in happiness or wisdom. ~Confucius

but.. also BE WEARY because...

All change is not growth, as all movement is not forward. ~Ellen Glasgow

Great post. Considering that you are in the same age as me and you came up with a thought-provoking post.

Nicely done. Now, why can't I make such posts. LOL.

i love this post. and i really really agree with the thing that everything starts within the self first.

coz when you have the initiative, everything else would come along.

kahit saang yata meronn complaints because people are naturally unsatisfied with everything they had in their life.. i agree na dapat bago mag-complain try to change things first within yourself... hinde yung puro complain na lang pero wala naman ginagawa para sa pagbabago...

Wow that was really well put Tina! You are certainly wise well beyond your years. I especially like the analogy with the lady in front of the mirror. To change or fix a problem one must find the root of the problem and work on that, everything else should follow.

So right about change being the only constant thing in this world. And you're right, change comes from within. Di porke nabago mo yung nasa paligid mo magiging ok na lahat. And it will never be like that always. Dapat, ikaw muna, bago ang nasa paligid mo.

Nice post, Tina!

I missed your other post about moms. Geez, you were fast, girl. Anyway, I posted a comment there. Thanks for doing the tag.

Change! Of course, we have to change...for the better, otherwise we'll rot.

Excellent post...as always.

wow! nice post!

yeah right, CHANGES COMES WITH responsibility..

It's easier to point your finger at someone else. For instance, we Pinoys blame it all to our govt(w/c btw, you pointed it out already)., even the fact that our govt. is not as good as the US govt, it's still we, Filipinos are responsible for the poverty thing, I mean HELLO! I believe that Filipinos are really into Mayaman-Kaagad-thingy instead of striving hard, what we do is is wait for a goodluck to happen..Let's face the fact that we have to help ourselves and our governemnt..give and take kung baga

and lastly(hehehe may pahabol pa),I hate to hear someone complaining, the one who complains everyday. Personally, it's unhealthy talaga. All those negative vibes, it's contagious at you'll feel somehow blue , i really dont like it.

hi tina!

nice post u have there. i am agreeable with your points. change starts within...we cannot just blame others for the circumstances that have befallen us..what's left to be done is to start changing our disposition in life...to see what's left to do for the better...lots of us, Filipinos, are complaining about the government ...yeah, but we fail to look at what we do to help ourselves.

As Maya Angelou says it, "Nothing will work unless you do." ...unless we all do ..NOW.

Hi Tina! Ya I figured the theme was election related. I hope things will CHANGE in Philippine politics and governance. I hope more Filipinos could step back, like you've blogged about, and examine the changes that really need to be made to improve Philippine society. I could write you a book of my observations on Filipino society, both in the Philippines and here in Canada, but I'll not bore you. I just hope one day love of country will beat out love of self. It would easier if poverty did not make love of self, and self preservation a necessity. We have a rich history of Bayani who sacrificed for love of country, it's a dying breed that needs to be resurrected especially in politics and government. Good luck to us in the elections!

What we need is collective change for the better. Kahit magbago pa ang isang tao, hindi pa rin magiging madali kasi yung ibang tao naman ang magbabagsak sa kanya.

I wonder why people say that everything changes so fast, when in truth, ang bagal talaga. Or maybe I'm just taking it from the POV of someone who's political?

It's easier to point fingers than offer a helping hand. 'Nuff said.

So does this mean I can't complain about how darned hot it is?! Haha!

My father once told me that it is usually attitude... not circumstances... that is the best predictor for happiness. A simple truth yes, but I'd forgotten it lately.

Loved your entry. Good reading.
