Kapayapaan

Happy 76th Hunger Games!! errrm este Happy 76th Araw ng Dabaw!

Our theme for the year is: Kapayapaan.

When I arrived last night from a weeklong trip in Cebu-Bohol, I was excited to see my vibrant city amidst all the lights flickering from above the plane. I can't help but notice they all looked like that cardboard boxes/model houses architects make.

As we were heading home, most of the streets were alive and throngs of people are out partying in the streets. And the usual restaurants who would've been occasionally not that "full" is now suddenly filled with a whole lot of people and cars were just all around. The city has awakened and the party is in full swing.

Here's a list of the schedule: Schedule for 76th Araw ng Davao

Till here!

Enjoy the festivities if you are in town!! :)

Madayaw!!!

Happy Holidays!!

Merry Christmas!! (I know it's kinda late. And saying Happy New Year would be a bit too early). So... Happy Holidays na lang!!

WARNING: This might be a long post to make up for the weeks I haven't posted.

I know everyone is super busy with all the parties and get-together's, reunions.... because I sure was! But, I can't talk about how swamped my schedule was because that would be sooo boring. Instead let me bask about those sweet precious moments with people that matter......

It started at Cebu (Plantation Bay/Shangri-La)-Bohol with our DXN Family, the first week of December. Although I had to encounter the "Joker's of our life". I know Batman has only one Joker... and a Deck of cards only has 2. But, our family's got 4 Joker's in our life left. But the Joker's are on a different story. I had fun communing with the DXN Family at the trip. Reconnected with friends from around Pinas. Those travel seminar incentives we have are like some sort of leader's gathering/reunion. Huge. with 325 participants and was even recognized by the Mayor (government) of Cebu. :)

Then there's the get together of my HS Buds Matet and Mona. Matet is a Medical Student and they designed this "Adopt A Child For Christmas" Party.. and so we joined in on the fun. And went to the pool afterwards.

Then another dose of DXN Davao Family Pool Party on the 18th. Super Super Fun!

And then on the 21st... the bonding with the Firstborns. Which was an overnight affair. We spent most of our time on Cris's car. Talking... while the rest of the guys did their thing. Hehe. It was fun.. oooh and what a lovely moon it was!

23rd.... wedding bells were ringing. As one of the "Firstborns" got married. Awwwww. Who is next??? :)

Of course on the 24th-25th... was our the time for the biological family. They visited our home on the 24th and there were constant friends who made their annual visit. And our traditional "exchange gift". Yayyyy! Oohh the faces of the kids with their gifts was priceless.

And yesterday(26th)... we went out-of-town to visit my mom's Aunt who was the one who assisted my mom in finishing her studies when our grand parent's separated.

So... yeah... I saw most of my friends this December except my College Buds. :( But, I'm sure one of these days we will all catch up! :)

By the way.. I'd like to extend my deepest gratitude to Ms. N. for the package she sent me! Yes, she sent one of my wishlist for PM's "All I want for Christmas". :)

It's the 2011 Power Planner (Belle De Jour) over there. *points points*

And yes... it was a fun Christmas... since I finally got the set of Harry Potter series that was my High School fancy!! Grabe. Talk about delayed gratification. And mom put me to sooo much drama that time just to surprise me, I cried because I almost thought I'm not having it this year...

See ? You always get what you want... sometimes it is just not NOW. :P

Holiday

Merry Christmas! *Though my greeting seems kind of late*. Thanks for all the Christmas Messages/Greetings I received here.

I was soo busy the whole week because of 2(two) impending parties for 23 and 24. December 23 for the office and December 24 for relatives, people close to us, and people in the office who are dear.

Everything went out well. I had tons of fun organizing the games for the "23" event. It was an "extra challenge/amazing race" sort of game consisting of five(5) different stations. Each station have their own corresponding lesson that is pretty much related to real life. Like, "seek and you shall find", "strike the balance", "listen, focus and reach for your dreams", "healthy lifestyle" and "creativity under pressure".

I would probably share the whole game one of these days.

By 24, everyone just got together, dined and talked.

By 25, we had a movie marathon with all my cousins present. By 7pm everyone decided to go to the People's Park and there everything started to go crazy for me. I was in a "bad mood" which came as a shock because I rarely have those. Really. I was so gloomy everybody noticed it. Maybe because there were a lot of people at the park and I've seen a lot of them spoiling the Green Theater (e.g. garbages all over). It's a new park and they're spoiling it. Huuuuuu. Or maybe some of my cousins were just too loud and sarcastic that it annoys me. Oh well. I guess they do happen sometimes. But, I shifted now.

Happy Holidays!

Shout Out: to Christian from Asteeg.net for the gift.

Davao Blogger's Party 1

We made history!

That's what they said last night when we attended the first ever Davao Blogger's Party. It was the first blogger's party organized outside Metro Manila.

When Jona and I arrived at NetFront Cafe (it's the newest internet cafe/coffee shop in the city), we saw Avy, Pearl, Red and Ced outside. It took us a couple of minutes before actually deciding to go inside. You see, we were the "shy bunch". Nyahaha. Anyway, we mustered up the courage... actually it was Red who went inside first.

Before, we went inside we got the chance to finally meet up with Bam. Hellooo Bam! It was soo nice meeting you there and finally hearing you chatter. :P Legendary, it's what Avy would call it. Really. Really. Nice meeting you there. Thanks for helping us out at the Google-lympics.

We met Mr.Blogie, Mr. Dominique, Mr. Jun , Ria and a whole lot more. People from Bisaya Bloggers were there as well. Most of them are aquainted with each other, already and most of them are a friendly bunch.

What I enjoyed most were the presentations, because I learned a lot. It was actually worth the blogger's time because they gave out tips about how to make maney just by blogging and more.

Mr. Blogie presented the DavaoBlogs. Ms. Aileen Apolo the Google Representative of Philippines was there and everyone got the chance to ask her about "Google Adsense/Adwords". She talked about Web Marketing. Mr. Abe from Yugatech, presented the Blogging Best Practices and Ms. Janette Toral of Digital Filipino, presented the Digital Filipino Club.

So, you see aside from the "socializing" and the "getting-to-know-you's" we were there to learn from each other as well. It was a fun night, although I was sooo silent most of the time. Hehe.

Before they ended the party we had the "Google-lympics" which actually took up most of the time but gave others, those who did not participate the chance to be aquainted with each other.

Bam and Mr. Dominique of VillageIdiotSavant won the most-wanted shirt from Google, while Pearl and I both got the Stiks and Stones game from Google.

I'm sorry no pictures. I'm soo lola, forgetting the camera. Rawr. Anyway, I'll be scouring other blogs for the pictures they will upload. Hehe. :)

Credit: the picture with the bloggers was from Mr. Dominique.

All in all it was a great night! :)

Araw ng Dabaw (Davao) 2007

Thanks for all the "Get well" wishes. I'm fine, better than last Saturday. Hehe. Maybe my body just want me to rest. Hehe.

Oh and by the way it's Bryan's Birthday!!! Happy Birthday Bryan! Thank you din sa mga comments and sa pagbisita! (Tindi Birthday mo... kasabay mo ang Birthday ng Davao. Hehe)

I was browsing some news headline about a certain website that the PNP in Davao had. Soooo, me and my curiosity checked it out, it's at http://www.davaocitypolice.com.

If you are a Davao resident who wants to report a crime or provide the authorities with information but wants to stay anonymous you can simply log on to the site and fill out the online citizen complaint form.

Aside from that the directory for the different police station in Davao can be seen, along with the operating units of Davao City Police Office, the gallery of the most wanted people in the Philippines, and the most wanted of Davao as well, some crime prevention tips, police news and other information involving DCPO.

The site could also be very much vulnerable to pranks. DCPO Superintendent Jaime Morante warned the pranksters, that if they are caught filing false information to the police they will be exposed and charged criminally just like what Mayor Rodrigo Duterte did to 911 prank callers.

One of the most awaited events here in Davao is "Araw ng Dabaw". It is more like Kadayawan, although Kadayawan is much more festive compared to this celebration. I actually forgot it's Araw ng Dabaw.

Schedule of Activites March 8-12,2007 and March 13-25, 2007

No classes today because of the City Parade held every year....

There are lots of trade fairs, party, music festivals, in store for everyone citywide.

And of course it is just quite fitting that the Davao's Bloggers Party would then be held this month (actually it is tomorrow).

The Davao Bloggers Party #1 is the first time that blog writers, enthusiasts, newbies and even pro-bloggers in Davao will get together and party! The Davao Blogspace currently hosts more than 30 blog feeds, but surely there are more out there, and this is what Party #1 is all about. It’s a shout-out to the world that there is an active, thriving community of bloggers in our beloved hometown.

Mushroom Book Stand

There's this blog party some of the Davao Blogger's are cooking up. It was Ara who informed me. Thank you. :)

--------------------------

I'm kinda loving my days just reading some novel in my bed, dozing off, waking up and then read, doze off again, read. Ahhh. Heaven. Then, there's the coffee or the choco drink beside and some cookies to munch on.

Yesterday, I wasn't able to get inside the house right away because the Rentokill guys are around who sprayed some chemicals inside basically to kill all the bugs/termites. They do it like once every two weeks I guess.

Anyhow, there I was stranded outside the lawn and good thing I brought the book I'm currently reading which is The Charm School by Nelson Demille. It's actually good and a fast-read but at the same time a really long book(630 pages small font).

I decided to just read at the wooden swing. I was hesitant at first because I was thinking there might be snakes around it because of the leaves. Haha. There are snakes outside cause it's pretty much like a forest around here. (Before, when we just transferred we did not have any screens yet, we would see snakes inside the house even if we were on the second floor. They would be in the bathroom, rooms and the terrace. I've had my encounter myself.) Anyway, I was thankful because it was pretty windy and I'd find myself looking up at the sky and then my gaze would stray to the rustling leaves and flowers around me and then I'd sigh. What a lovely day.

I loveee windy days when I'm outside, I do cherish the sunny mornings, and the rainy days when I'm inside. Hehe.

------------------------------------

Awhile ago, Jona, Pearl, Renel and I dropped by V. Plaza because we were thinking the "mushroom" book stand would still be around. I called it "mushroom" because number one it has no name, number two it's like a mushroom appearing here and there and then disappearing one day which it did awhile ago. Apparently the book stand packed up and went away and I don't know when they would be back. Too bad, there were a couple of books that I wanted to buy. Anyway we ended up visiting another stall a small one compared to the "mushroom" book stand. When we left I found myself buying two Luanne Rice books. Can't help it. *sheepish smile*

Basically, I don't have anything to share right now maybe I'm just soo excited to read another part of the book I'm still reading and I can't wait to start another one. *gleee*

Have a lovely week everyone! :)
