H-H-P

Since, it's Independence Day and all....

It feels good... to at least enumerate a few things why we feel great about being Pinoy!

Tagged by Beejing.

Here’s how this goes:

1. Answer the question: What are the 3 signs you see happening now that make you say, “it feels great to be Pinoy?”

  1. HUMOR - even in the face of danger and terrifying moments. If you happen to take a look at our so-called horror movies (there might be a few exemptions, although I have yet to see a horror movie done by pinoy without a funny line..) they often mix it up with comedians.
  2. HOSPITALITY - We are good hosts. We serve the bests for our visitors foreign or not. We make sure everything's going smoothly and they are enjoying their stay.
  3. PASALUBONG - "Papa, Mama! Pasalubonggg!" Even a trip to the store won't save you from the shrilling cries of kids "pasalubong!!!". When one goes to a trip outside one's hometown or even out of the country... that person can never sleep until he/she has set aside "pasalubong" for his/her family and friends.

2. Tag 10 people.

Anyone can do this.... if you want.

3. Even if you’re not tagged, go ahead and join the fun!

Happy Independence Day!

humor and pasalubong. i remember years ago, i was still working with an international org ADB, one of my officemates saw a german consultant coming toward us, she said, "ayan na si T, may dalang pasalubong". T suddenly said "hindi, hindi ito pasalubong". apparently, his filipino girlfriend who later became his wife, has taught him a lot of filipino words already.

That's funny, sexy mom. Our humour is so different other cultures doesn't understand why we laugh at it. I was attending a gathering at one time, and there's this minister speaking in Taglish and everyone was laughing enjoying his humour. I explained to a white guy, husband of a Pinay, what the speaker was saying, and he said, "I know." He understands after all but to him it was not funny. With a stoic face he walked away.

May neighbor kaming german national married to a filipina. May dumating na kababayan yung pinay around 9am, bumisita to surprise sana yung kababayan.

What I do like being a Pinoy is, we have strong family ties. The Filipino way of valuing family is just one of the many great things about Pinoys!

hi tina,

2nd...itong, hospitality kono kay we are pinoy-nay....gawain lahat, intertain very well.....

hindi naisip, hindi na pinas dito,...that we have a helper or Inday, that we can trust our inday to do or care our family n dwelling, para samahan siya.....

we are very willing to entertain a co-pinoy-nay visita....pero hindi talaga pwede na wholeday kami to suroy n kuyog him-her....kasi walang mag-alaga sa bahay....in short....Walang magpa-helper dito, kahit kaya mong bayaran ang oras sa helper.....

thank you for sharing your meme....

you can´t get inside or kung party, wala kang place-seat, or you have no foods to eat....

kasi hindi ka kasali sa Counts....

Pasalubong?...never, siguro yon iba, kasi na-immune na sa culture natin or asawa pinay....pero yon,,,,fresko pa,...ay naku, sabihin pa nila...

Manigas ka na lang.....lol

thanks.....

yes, this is mine too....Proud to be Pinay....

"What I do like being a Pinoy is, we have strong family ties. The Filipino way of valuing family is just one of the many great things about Pinoys!"

i do my best to my family....STRONG FAMILY TIES AND RESPECT.....ayoko ngang tawagin ako ng first name ko sa mga anak ko....i told them to say: manang, tita, ate to older to them....

Mano po.....ito then, but my eldest ayaw na...kim?...still but i think she don´t like to practice this anymore, seldom lang kung lolo-lola, kasi sabi pa nya, hindi daw dito cultura....pero shake hands na lang daw sila.....
