Happy Holidays!!

Merry Christmas!! (I know it's kinda late. And saying Happy New Year would be a bit too early). So... Happy Holidays na lang!!

WARNING: This might be a long post to make up for the weeks I haven't posted.

I know everyone is super busy with all the parties and get-together's, reunions.... because I sure was! But, I can't talk about how swamped my schedule was because that would be sooo boring. Instead let me bask about those sweet precious moments with people that matter......

It started at Cebu (Plantation Bay/Shangri-La)-Bohol with our DXN Family, the first week of December. Although I had to encounter the "Joker's of our life". I know Batman has only one Joker... and a Deck of cards only has 2. But, our family's got 4 Joker's in our life left. But the Joker's are on a different story. I had fun communing with the DXN Family at the trip. Reconnected with friends from around Pinas. Those travel seminar incentives we have are like some sort of leader's gathering/reunion. Huge. with 325 participants and was even recognized by the Mayor (government) of Cebu. :)

Then there's the get together of my HS Buds Matet and Mona. Matet is a Medical Student and they designed this "Adopt A Child For Christmas" Party.. and so we joined in on the fun. And went to the pool afterwards.

Then another dose of DXN Davao Family Pool Party on the 18th. Super Super Fun!

And then on the 21st... the bonding with the Firstborns. Which was an overnight affair. We spent most of our time on Cris's car. Talking... while the rest of the guys did their thing. Hehe. It was fun.. oooh and what a lovely moon it was!

23rd.... wedding bells were ringing. As one of the "Firstborns" got married. Awwwww. Who is next??? :)

Of course on the 24th-25th... was our the time for the biological family. They visited our home on the 24th and there were constant friends who made their annual visit. And our traditional "exchange gift". Yayyyy! Oohh the faces of the kids with their gifts was priceless.

And yesterday(26th)... we went out-of-town to visit my mom's Aunt who was the one who assisted my mom in finishing her studies when our grand parent's separated.

So... yeah... I saw most of my friends this December except my College Buds. :( But, I'm sure one of these days we will all catch up! :)

By the way.. I'd like to extend my deepest gratitude to Ms. N. for the package she sent me! Yes, she sent one of my wishlist for PM's "All I want for Christmas". :)

It's the 2011 Power Planner (Belle De Jour) over there. *points points*

And yes... it was a fun Christmas... since I finally got the set of Harry Potter series that was my High School fancy!! Grabe. Talk about delayed gratification. And mom put me to sooo much drama that time just to surprise me, I cried because I almost thought I'm not having it this year...

See ? You always get what you want... sometimes it is just not NOW. :P

I just got around to browsing PM's post which she messaged me about since I haven't been online the past few days. Anyhooo.... when I got to read PM's post about "Gift Swapping" with blogger friends I got excited and of course would love to join in on the fun!

And if you want to join the activity spearheaded by PM, you can check out her post here: ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS. Like she said, the more, the merrier!! :)

Something small: Vintage Pendant or Locket. =)

Something big: Large Stuffed Teddy BEARRR!! or a Panda will do. *giggles*

Something cute: anything "angel" inspired is cute for me. :)

Something soft: a pink/purple pillow!!! (small or big is okay.)

Something techie: a Samsung Galaxy ? haha. thats too much. Just Kidding. a pink headphone will do... or a pink wireless mouse. or a pink mousepad. oh di ba? basta pink. okay na ako. or purple or emerald or turquoise.

Something fancy: a wand from the Whimsic Alley, preferably this. =)

Something (insert your favorite color): pink pendulum! =)

Something wearable: a girly shawl or scarf. :)

Something you need: a book about angels, love, fairies or anything mystical or any book from Robert Ludlum, Marianne Williamson, Marc Gafni, Doreen Virtue, Paolo Coelho. I don't mind if it's second hand. :)

Something you can use for work: a 2011 Belle De Jour Power Planner :P

Something sweet: cheesecake!!! or a Swiss chocolate will do (any brand).

Holiday

Merry Christmas! *Though my greeting seems kind of late*. Thanks for all the Christmas Messages/Greetings I received here.

I was soo busy the whole week because of 2(two) impending parties for 23 and 24. December 23 for the office and December 24 for relatives, people close to us, and people in the office who are dear.

Everything went out well. I had tons of fun organizing the games for the "23" event. It was an "extra challenge/amazing race" sort of game consisting of five(5) different stations. Each station have their own corresponding lesson that is pretty much related to real life. Like, "seek and you shall find", "strike the balance", "listen, focus and reach for your dreams", "healthy lifestyle" and "creativity under pressure".

I would probably share the whole game one of these days.

By 24, everyone just got together, dined and talked.

By 25, we had a movie marathon with all my cousins present. By 7pm everyone decided to go to the People's Park and there everything started to go crazy for me. I was in a "bad mood" which came as a shock because I rarely have those. Really. I was so gloomy everybody noticed it. Maybe because there were a lot of people at the park and I've seen a lot of them spoiling the Green Theater (e.g. garbages all over). It's a new park and they're spoiling it. Huuuuuu. Or maybe some of my cousins were just too loud and sarcastic that it annoys me. Oh well. I guess they do happen sometimes. But, I shifted now.

Happy Holidays!

Shout Out: to Christian from Asteeg.net for the gift.

Stars That Shine

*yawn* I stretched my hands, as I woke up.

*pitter patter pitter patter*

"It's raining!", I thought. I jumped out of bed. Greeted everyone with a cheery "Good Morning!".

Ahh... how lovely. It's raining. I just love the sound... another reason to stay in bed.

I fixed myself a cup of coffee and read a good book. One with aliens visiting Planet Earth. They say they come in peace. We'll see about that Extraterrestrials.

and that's how everything began...

and that's partly the reason why I decided to just redesign my blog. I wasn't planning to change it or anything but I grew tired of the look and I'm not that fond of 3 columns anyway. That's what happens whenever I hear raindrops. Haha.

I guess I'll stay home till the rain stops. I just want to rest a bit *that is if I get to rest at all, what with a book by my side*.

updates:

  • My mom and I were doing back-to-back sessions the past two days to a couple of teachers. It's actually another new experience. You have professionals as audience. I made the introduction and also the last part of the session.
  • I still have to work out something for the office's Christmas Party this 23. *di na daw uso ang party ngayon?*
  • I can't wait for the Adobe Photoshop Seminar.
  • got to finish Margaret Cuthbert's Silent Cradle.

Christmas and White Envelopes

Merry Christmas everyone!! Have a Blessed day! :)

Im sharing a story I found online.... =)

White Envelopes

It's just a small, white envelope stuck among the branches of our Christmas tree. No name, no identification, no inscription. It has peeked through the branches of our tree for the past 10 years or so.

It all began because my husband Mike hated Christmas. Oh, not the true meaning of Christmas, but the commercial aspects of it, overspending, the frantic running around at the last minute to get a tie for Uncle Harry and the dusting powder for Grandma, the gifts given in desperation because you couldn't think of anything else.

Knowing he felt this way, I decided one year to bypass the usual shirts, sweaters, ties and so forth. I reached for something special just for Mike. The inspiration came in an unusual way. Our son, Kevin, who was 12 that year was wrestling at the junior level at the school he attended, and shortly before Christmas, there was a non-league match against a team sponsored by an inner-city church.
These youngsters, dressed in sneakers so ragged that shoestrings seemed to be the only thing holding them together, presented a sharp contrast to our boys in the spiffy blue and gold uniforms and sparkling new wrestling shoes. As the match began I was alarmed to see that the other team was wrestling without headgear, a kind of light helmet designed to protect a wrestler's ears. It was a luxury the ragtag team obviously could not afford. Well, we ended up walloping them. We took every weight class. And as each of their boys got up from the mat, he swaggered around in his tatters with false bravado, a kind of street pride that couldn't acknowledge defeat.

Mike, seated beside me, shook his head sadly, "I wish one of them could have won," he said. "They have a lot of potential, but losing like this could take the heart right out of them." Mike loved kids, all kids, and he knew them, having coached little league football, baseball and lacrosse.

That's when the idea of his present came. That afternoon, I went to a local sporting goods store and bought an assortment of wrestling headgear and shoes and sent them anonymously to the inner-city church. On Christmas Eve, I placed the envelope on the tree, the note inside telling Mike what I had done and that this was his gift from me. His smile was the brightest thing about Christmas that year and in succeeding years. For each Christmas, I followed the tradition, one year sending a group of mentally handicapped youngsters to a hockey game, another year a check to a pair of elderly brothers whose home had burned to the ground the week before Christmas, and on and on.

The envelope became the highlight of our Christmas. It was always the last thing opened on Christmas morning and our children, ignoring their new toys, would stand with wide-eyed anticipation as their dad lifted the envelope from the tree to reveal its contents. As the children grew, the toys gave way to more practical presents, but the envelope never lost its allure. The story doesn't end there.

You see we lost Mike last year due to dreaded cancer. When Christmas rolled around, I was still so wrapped in grief that I barely got the tree up. But Christmas Eve found me placing an envelope on the tree, and in the morning, it was joined by three more.
Each of our children, unbeknownst to the others, had placed an envelope on the tree for their dad. The tradition has grown and someday will expand even further with our grandchildren standing around the tree with wide-eyed anticipation watching as their fathers take down the envelope. Mike's spirit, like the Christmas spirit, will always be with us.

Mini Bottles.

Happy December Everyone!!!

Time to start the so-called Christmas shopping! Haha.

I gave out identical mini bottles last year to my classmates.

That bottle is called - "Mini Holiday Message in a Bottle". They should try to open the bottle and read the message, because there is actually a message written inside.

For my girl cousins.... I gave out the same bottle but with a different content.

This one is called "Mini Butterfly Charm in a Bottle". One of my trademarks whenever I give things would be butterflies and flowers. Haha. But this time, I'm trying to hear what they want.. that is.. if it fits my budget.

Those bottles are actually multi-purpose. Hihi.

I'm still brainstorming over what to give. Hmmm....

What are you giving away this Christmas? What did you give away last year? -_-

Online Christmas Tree

Our Christmas Tree at home is already set up 3 weeks ago. Hehe.

Anyhow, what I want to share to you is about the "Online Christmas Tree" at MTVasia.

I rarely visit MTVasia, but I decided to check it out awhile ago. And ta-da, I found out that they have this online-xmas-tree-thingy.

You can have your own tree. (I'm not sure if you need to register or something at MTVAsia, but if you need to go ahead and register, it's free naman eh.)

Anyway, what's fun about this tree is you can "message" the different trees that are owned by other people as well.

And as you give them a message... they would have a christmas ball in their tree. The more messages, the more Christmas Balls for your tree. Oh dba? Napaka-interactive.

You can make your own tree HERE.

You would see a lot of christmas trees. Roll over the star to see who owns it. Click it, so you can drop a message.

To Create your own tree:

You can see below a "red/white-candy-cane-with-a-holly* that says "ROLL OVER TO SEE MENU".

And obviously, just ROLL OVER TO SEE THE MENU. :) And then choose NEW TREE. Fill the form.

To Search for a tree:

Click SEARCH TREE, and type in the name of the tree.

Example: my tree is named: angelblush. Just type in angelblush. *hint*drop a message for my ornaments*hint*

Anyhow... once done. Just tell me the name of your tree.... and i would be glad to drop a message for you! :)

Oh, I found out at their email the shortcut for my tree. VIEW MY TREE

Christmas Dance

My other layout got messed up(in IE) because I was tweaking with it, last Sunday.

Since, I'm planning to have a holiday-layout.... and I kinda have the time, I changed it.

Is it too dark? I want it to look festive, but then it might HURT your eyes.

Christmas is not just a date. It is a state of MIND. (Everyone would agree with this, I know)

I love dancing. No. Make it, watching people dance. I'm not exactly good in dancing (I know, I know, dancing is also a state of MIND) but I'm still too concious to dance in front of the public. So, I rarely dance or join any dance contests.

But then, there are special times when I do really dance. On rare occasions. That is, if no one is watching. Hehe.

----------------------------------------------

Oh and by the way, I just want to thank everyone( Pam,Bam,Blacksoul, Avy, Giovanne, Katia, Lalaine, Pot, Cruise, Iskoo, RalphT, Ann, Kath, Celena), who commented on my last post.

I just felt, I need the release. Everything's well now. My mom is doing great, pretty great. She did not take it the hard way. In fact, everyone's just laughing it off. And there are no hard feelings. At first lang, kasi sino ba may gustong mangyari un?

--------------------------------------------------

I can't wait for December 1!! Our class will end. I'm counting the days already.

Sleigh Ride

For two consecutive meetings my Economics and Entrepreneurship class was with NO TEACHER AT ALL. I'm not complaining or anything, in fact I am grateful (not that I don't like our teacher) at least I can read the book I am reading for two hours. :P

(Btw, he left us some seatworks which could be done in 5 minutes tops.)

I'm currently reading The Loop by Nicholas Evans. It's a great book. I think I'll be finishing the book tonight, because Avy will borrow it, prolly tomorrow.

Im currently listening to some Christmas Songs, just to be in the spirit! Haha. Actually, I just like hearing Christmas Songs when Christmas is coming my way. :)

"Giddy yap, giddy yap, giddy yap, let's go, Let's look at the show,"

I just finished my 5-hour driving lessons. Finally =)

Oh and I would like to greet a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to dwin dwin!! I made a banner for him too! I know you had a wonderful day today!

I am suddenly craving for....

That's my favorite cake EVER! It's called Mango Charlotte, made in Bistro Rosario. (It has a durian counterpart but I like the Mango better. I like durian when it's just the fruit or a shake.) Whenever I think of birthdays, Mango Charlotte pops in my mind. And I have the picture. Waaa it makes me hungrier. *rawr* I hope Dwinny and all of you guys can try the cake. It's really good.

That's all for now. I already made you crave(*drool*) over that cake or whatever cake you like that reminded you... just as I did tonight. -_-
