Happy Holidays!!

Merry Christmas!! (I know it's kinda late. And saying Happy New Year would be a bit too early). So... Happy Holidays na lang!!

WARNING: This might be a long post to make up for the weeks I haven't posted.

I know everyone is super busy with all the parties and get-together's, reunions.... because I sure was! But, I can't talk about how swamped my schedule was because that would be sooo boring. Instead let me bask about those sweet precious moments with people that matter......

It started at Cebu (Plantation Bay/Shangri-La)-Bohol with our DXN Family, the first week of December. Although I had to encounter the "Joker's of our life". I know Batman has only one Joker... and a Deck of cards only has 2. But, our family's got 4 Joker's in our life left. But the Joker's are on a different story. I had fun communing with the DXN Family at the trip. Reconnected with friends from around Pinas. Those travel seminar incentives we have are like some sort of leader's gathering/reunion. Huge. with 325 participants and was even recognized by the Mayor (government) of Cebu. :)

Then there's the get together of my HS Buds Matet and Mona. Matet is a Medical Student and they designed this "Adopt A Child For Christmas" Party.. and so we joined in on the fun. And went to the pool afterwards.

Then another dose of DXN Davao Family Pool Party on the 18th. Super Super Fun!

And then on the 21st... the bonding with the Firstborns. Which was an overnight affair. We spent most of our time on Cris's car. Talking... while the rest of the guys did their thing. Hehe. It was fun.. oooh and what a lovely moon it was!

23rd.... wedding bells were ringing. As one of the "Firstborns" got married. Awwwww. Who is next??? :)

Of course on the 24th-25th... was our the time for the biological family. They visited our home on the 24th and there were constant friends who made their annual visit. And our traditional "exchange gift". Yayyyy! Oohh the faces of the kids with their gifts was priceless.

And yesterday(26th)... we went out-of-town to visit my mom's Aunt who was the one who assisted my mom in finishing her studies when our grand parent's separated.

So... yeah... I saw most of my friends this December except my College Buds. :( But, I'm sure one of these days we will all catch up! :)

By the way.. I'd like to extend my deepest gratitude to Ms. N. for the package she sent me! Yes, she sent one of my wishlist for PM's "All I want for Christmas". :)

It's the 2011 Power Planner (Belle De Jour) over there. *points points*

And yes... it was a fun Christmas... since I finally got the set of Harry Potter series that was my High School fancy!! Grabe. Talk about delayed gratification. And mom put me to sooo much drama that time just to surprise me, I cried because I almost thought I'm not having it this year...

See ? You always get what you want... sometimes it is just not NOW. :P

Something fancy: a wand from the Whimsic Alley, preferably this. =)

Something (insert your favorite color): pink pendulum! =)

Something wearable: a girly shawl or scarf. :)

Something you need: a book about angels, love, fairies or anything mystical or any book from Robert Ludlum, Marianne Williamson, Marc Gafni, Doreen Virtue, Paolo Coelho. I don't mind if it's second hand. :)

Not another TEN movie.

Tagged by Patty and Pam.

(This tag took about 3 days)

I revealed my 5 secrets (that ended up in 6) and then my 15 amazing facts daw... and this time 10 strange/weird habits...

RULES:
“Each player of this game starts off with ten weird things or habits or little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged must write in a blog of their own ten weird things or habits or little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you must choose six people to be tagged and list their names. No tagbacks!”

ano baaa? ano baa ang strange sa akin ?

Weird Reading Habits

  1. Whenever I am reading a novel I usually have 3 notebooks beside me, a pocket dictionary/thesaurus(which comes in handy when I'm reading classic books) and a pen. One notebook are for the words/places/things that I just encountered while reading the book along with their meanings. Second notebook are for the sayings I like and it usually includes what book it came from, and who said who. Third notebook are for the funny/sarcastic lines, and conversations.
  2. I have two big dictionaries which I started to read from A to Z before. Then I found notebooks... lots of them here at home. Which gave me an idea to segregate the interesting people, mythological characters, Bible characters, foreign languages, characters of Shakespeare's plays, Arthurian legend characters and many more into different notebooks writing them down one by one... but I did not get to finish it....
  3. If I share a story(from a book I've read) to someone and then someone happened to be eavesdropping people would think it's a movie.
  4. I love to read about Science and History before. I've read the 21 or 22 books of Childcraft and another series(just like Childcraft) i forgot but its all about Science.. from cover to cover when I was a lil girl maybe that's where Ive started to crave for books..
  5. This is not a habit but it's a fact: Once, my mom threatened to burn all my SV books cause I read too much love/spy stories and not those business books she had. Nyahaha. (But now, mom is pretty much cool with it. In fact she would surprise me with a few books Ive been ranting about like when she bought me the Da Vinci Code, and Memoirs of a Geisha to stop me from babbling about it.. nyahaha)
  6. I have a notebook full of TRIVIAs and FACTS.

  7. I'm running out of Weird Reading Habitss sooo.....here are my random "weird" habits.

  8. Whenever I watch 24, I pause/stop it once in awhile to write all their conversations.
  9. I can't sleep with only one pillow. I need two or more. But two can be just fine.
  10. I use the blanket but I leave my feet in open air... unless I'm scared.
  11. I don't wear make-up. But I have a couple of make-up that were given to me and that my mom trades it for bag or shoes. Nyahaha. Actually at the picture below you would see the lipsticks my mom wanted to have.. nyahahaha
Anyway, got four boxes from my aunt (who is a silent reader of my blog by the way) in California.... and this was what I got from her..

Thank YOU!! I love the two bags specially the green one.. so trendy. Mom eyed it twice nyahaha and Darlene too.. I will let her use it as well.. cause I think she really likes it. :) Thanks for the book. :P

Be an Inspiration

I was inspired to write a post about.. well.. "Inspiration". I read andianka's post about helping the people who were victims of the storm Reming.. and it reminded me of this topic that's been on my mind for months.

I believe one of the greatest gift one can give to a person is "Inspiration".

We can help people survive daily by giving them relief goods (yes, it's a big help too), some stuffs they need, aid them financially, treat them from this and that. But all that is temporary, after all that... what happens?

Don't get me wrong here ok? It's pretty much important to help them after the storm and give them exactly what they need physically and all that. And I do value and appreciate that there are people who shares and there are people who are getting all they help they need.

What I am trying to share is... that it's also great to give and live like an "Inspiration" to others as well.

It's like a kid getting sick and being treated kindly by a nurse or a doctor and she suddenly gets inspired that she wanted to be like a nurse or a doctor someday so that she could help many people as well.

It's like a kid who has been raised in a poverty-stricken place and that kid meets a person who is very much rich and yet down-to-earth who taught him or even just showed him that it does not need money to have money... and that EVERYONE has a chance to be like him and be MORE than what he is.

It's like Jesus who inspired Christians to live a righteous life (and i mean WHOLEHEARTEDLY) not for the sake of the religion but because it's how they see it fit. And just like Jesus who was an inspiration to His disciples telling everyone "yet, all this you can do and more."

It's like Mother Teresa who inspired many women (as well as men) to tend to the needy and was always sharing about world peace.

It's like Princess Diana who inspired many little girls (like me) to be strong and be a great help to the sick as well.

It's like Jose Rizal (well not the one about him being a womanizer but it could be as well) who inspired other writers to speak what is TRUE for them and was never afraid to die for the country and for what he believed in.

You see, every great person has an INSPIRATION. Every great master that lived in this planet somehow saw someone, envisioned someone that inspired them to be WHO THEY ARE and WHO THEY WANT TO BE.

and maybe even little things you do, might inspire somebody and wouldn't it be nice to hear about them becoming GREAT and achieving what they want someday just simply because one way or another he/she was inspired by something you did...

It's not about the material things that you give, but it's because you gave something to that person's soul to make him do more.

It's what everybody needs... an inspiration... to be who they want to be.

Our chief want is someone who will inspire us to be what we know we could be. -Ralph W. Emerson.

To do something, however small, to make others happier and better, is the highest ambition, the most elevating hope, which can inspire a human being -John Lubbock

This world would be a lovely place if everybody inspire each other right?

That's what leaders do...

Leaders establish the vision for the future and set the strategy for getting
there; they cause change. They motivate and inspire others to go in the right
direction and they, along with everyone else, sacrifice to get there. -John
Kotter
And of course one cannot be called a leader if he/she did not make other people leaders like himself/herself.

We all want to help each other and the best you can do is to inspire and enrich one another.

So, set out and be an inspiration to everyone. Have a great Sunday! :)

{ I just finished Birds of Prey by J.A. Jance. Me and Tin read it together i suppose but I guess she might be busy. Review on ESPRESSO BREAK WP. Don't worry tin no spoilers or anything... on second thought... dont read it tin. Haha. after na lang. Just posted a quote that mentioned PHILIPPINES there. }

Mini Bottles.

Happy December Everyone!!!

Time to start the so-called Christmas shopping! Haha.

I gave out identical mini bottles last year to my classmates.

That bottle is called - "Mini Holiday Message in a Bottle". They should try to open the bottle and read the message, because there is actually a message written inside.

For my girl cousins.... I gave out the same bottle but with a different content.

This one is called "Mini Butterfly Charm in a Bottle". One of my trademarks whenever I give things would be butterflies and flowers. Haha. But this time, I'm trying to hear what they want.. that is.. if it fits my budget.

Those bottles are actually multi-purpose. Hihi.

I'm still brainstorming over what to give. Hmmm....

What are you giving away this Christmas? What did you give away last year? -_-
