What I Miss: TV Shows

So, I have stated Cartoon Series I missed this time it's the TV Shows. One of the reasons I go home early was because of the TV shows that awaits me at home before. Here are my favorite TV Shows when I was still young...

  • Highlander - Ahhh.. I don't remember much about this.. but I remember waiting for this when I was young.
  • Young Hercules - The young one that starred Ryan Gosling. He was my crush back then... was shocked to see him at The Notebook.
  • Xena - well... I loved Hercules. expect me to like Xena as well.
  • Saved By The Bell - Old School! Woo. I really enjoyed watching this. I think this was done during weekdays... like 5:30. By that time, I'm home. Shown at Studio 23
  • Flipper - One reasons I love dolphins was because of this series. :) I love it when Studio 23 have their marathons of Flipper during Holy Week.
  • Baywatch - I love people-saving-people series. This series made me want to be a lifeguard as well. Pero.. malabo. I don't swim. Muwahaha.
  • Are you afraid of the Dark? - the Midnight Society... I always catch up with this every Friday at Studio 23. :)
  • Rescue 911 - at RPN 9. As I've said I love to watch people-saving-people series... I wait for this every Sunday! And.. I was soo thrilled when we finally had our own 911 Station.
  • How Did They Do That? - I learned lots of things from this show and most stories they have are interesting. I even bought a book entitled "How Did They Do That?".
  • Just Kidding! - Love to watch the pranks made at Just Kidding! :)
  • Seventh Heaven - "When I see their happy faces smiling down at me...Seventh Heaven..."

Local TV Shows
  • Hirayamanawari - I really wake up early for this show.. Love the values you would get from here... hehe. "Hirayamanawari.. mga pangarap natin.. ating abutin."
  • Bayani - I like this as well. It's like history class all over again. <3>
  • Sineskwela - I love Science. :)
  • Okatokat -
  • Calvento Files - Everything's true. The tune they play in every crime is eerieee...
  • GMIK
and other shows I have yet to remember.

What old TV shows do you remember watching? :)

I can Dance!

Been quite busy lately, juggling responsibilities and studies. Too many commitments... at least my life is full of new experiences and challenges.

Our defense is set to be this July 14... and it should not be MOVED! I have an event to attend to after July 14 and I will be VERRRRYYY BUSSYYY!!!

-------------------------------------------

I love dancing. I love to watch people dance. I dance in my dreams.... but in REAL LIFE? It is something I usually avoid. I do dance if it's something slow(during weddings) and the steps are basic... but nothing more.

I managed not to join the "Araw ng Dabaw" dance my school joined and opted as a props person instead to get additional points.

I managed not to join the cheerleading competition which was choreographed by Avy who is a great dancer by the way.

I managed not to join the Recognition Rally presentation last year....

I was a great escape artist you know...... but then the great Secret said...

what you resist, persists.
and I was so sure I can escape and have my thesis as an alibi for not joining this year's presentation... but Oh boy.. was I wrong.

My mom and I had a some kinda "big" fight. She was saying I could do it and all (di naman sa papresyo or whatever... it's just that the fact the rest looks good in dancing ... and I don't is pure torture.). She said.... I should at least join because at least they would see their upline participate and all... and support... ratatata.... ( I have no problem with supporting.. It's the dancing!!!! )

What can I do? My mom wouldn't talk to me at first.... but then I managed to let her talk to me (after crying) and agreeing to join.

I've been hearing this audio CD most of the time.... and it says:

Everyone has the ability to learn ALL SKILLS. Just practice and do it everyday.... until it becomes part of your LIFE. Every skill CAN BE LEARNED.

The above quote kind of boosted me up... that.. I just have to declare everyday... I am great and all and really believing in it. It will take a few weeks of mind setting.. but once it is set... Aww.. everything would be alright. It should.

Dance practice takes up most of my time. It's usually done during mornings and then evenings... and during afternoon, I assist at the counter (seeee... I support dude!) without pay.

and besides practice ain't boring..*wink* It's actually fun.. I get to bond with the "Special Boys" and my Aunt which I call Ate Disay... since she refuses to be called a Tita, saying she is still young and single. Hehe.

---------------------------------------------

PBB made a big mistake casting NEL out first before Wendy. Tsk. Tsk. I can't believe it. What a big joke. !!!!

Your tasks and punishments were fun Kuya....... but I don't think a lot was rooting for Wendy.

What I Miss: Cartoons

Saw this online... Funny.
Is tat you Shin Chan? Hehe
Anyhow... since Shin Chan is a cartoon...
Let me share to you Cartoons that I Miss MOST and brings back memories of little old me.
{ Mind you, Shin Chan was not one of them ok? }

I was a normal kid too. It wasn't just books and notebooks for me. Before my books and notebooks.... I would watch my favorite cartoons every morning.

I've seen a lot of bloggers posting about the cartoons that were aired before. I love summers since they air most of their cartoon shows during those times. I'd wake up early, get my coffee-milk *yes, it was coffee with milk for me before*, my crackers and honey. Sit in front of the TV to catch up with these cartoons......

With no cable.... I have to watch all these cartoons aired by local TV stations.
  • Princess Sarah - I am a sucker about princess... royalties... castles... *swoons* During the hype of this cartoon they even made a Pinoy version movie of this cartoon series(it has an English movie as well) starred by Camille Pratts. Of course there's a chant about this series as well the one that ends with "Laviña Laviña ingittera".
  • Cedie - Ahh.... this one.... I like as well. They also have a Pinoy version movie of this starred by Tom Taus.
  • Cinderella - Since, I love the Disney Cinderella... anything Cinderella I would watch. And this cartoon got me hooked. Really. I would be disappointed if I missed an episode.
  • Remi - The song "mahal kong ina.... aking ina..." would remain in my mind and lips.. I even sang the song for my mom on her birthday. Nyahaha. In fact my mom would watch this cartoon with me as well.
  • B1 at B2 - Naiisip mo ba ang naiisip ko B2? "Sina B1 at B2 laging magkasama... Sa lahat ng oras sila ay masaya... " I can still remember the song.... and I really love to sing along with it. Hehe.
  • Secret Garden - I also like the values you would get from here... my mom would watch this with me....
  • Judy Abbot - and Daddy Long legs.....
  • Free Willy - I love the adventures of Willy and Jesse. This is about saving the ocean against a roboman who wants to pollute it. Shown at ABC.
  • Captain Planet -
"Gaia, the spirit of the Earth, can no longer stand the terrible destruction plaguing our planet. She gives five special rings to five special young people. From Africa, Kwame with the power of earth. From the North America, Wheeler with the power of fire. From the Soviet Union, Linka with the power of wind. From Asia, Gi with the power of water and from South America, Ma-Ti with the power of heart. With the five powers combined they summon earth's greatest champion."
"Captain Planet... he's the hero." I even have captain planet notebooks back then. Their theme song is quite catchy. "Earth. Fire. Wind. Water. Heart. and When your powers combine... I am Captain Planet!" I watch this over at ABC.
  • Laurel and Hardy - Also this.... :P The fat and the thin. Comical. Shown at ABC
  • Pink Panther - I love the theme "tune" of this cartoon.... shown at ABC
  • Ghostbusters - Ahhh the theme song of this cartoon... I really like and the wailing siren. "Tenetenetenet... Ghostbusters!" It was a huge hit, it even had it's own movie. Shown at Studio 23 *new version* and ABC*old version*.
  • Casper - "Casper the friendly ghost.... the friendliest ghost offff alll"... I also love to watch this over at Studio 23.
  • Santa Claus - I forgot the real title. It was shown for 2-3 years ago before Christmas at Studio 23 when it just started... a cartoon series with Santa and his elves. Love to sing the theme song. I run home early for this... and watch it by 5 or 6 pm.
  • Super Boink - Babebube Boink! Super Boink. I love to watch this as well.. because it's pink. Nyahaha.
  • Sweet Tales of St. Tail - She steals stuffs. I don't why I like this one... maybe because I like her costume?
These are a few of my favorite cartoon shows when I was young that I really miss. It brings back not-so-old memories. Me, munching my crackers dipped with honey. Oh well.

2 SMRT 4 U

Everyone's hearing about online predators and cyberbullies.. and in the U.S. it is pretty much rampant. I found this site online that gives away advocacy rings to help you remember and be aware of seedy people online.

They offer lots of tips... to help keep yourself safe online. I know it affects most of the US residents only but it helps to at least be aware of what's happening and be more careful everyday. You can also listen and watch to two different testimonies of what they experienced in real life.

I signed up for the advocacy ring they are giving away last month.... and they said it takes 2-3 months to get it because it's overseas.

-------------------------------------

I'm not a Pinoy Big Brother fan... but I'm beginning to enjoy their tasks and some punishments. Nyahaha. The four(housmates) being punished this week was Nel, Bruce, Saicy, and Bea for doing the "Number 1*" at the garden. They were supposed to balance the "arinola" at their head for the whole day(While eating, urinating.. etc.) then circle the garden twice, and then dance without letting the arinolas fall. Basta, it was sooo funny. Too bad, it's usually aired late at night.

But, I like the Season 2 housemates better compared to the first(di ko kasi napanood ang first). I usually don't care about PBB... but their batch this season was good.. different personalities... meron syempre bad sides... pero... that's part. I like it because they help each other and they have a good bond already. Most of them (the ones left in the house) are good sports naman so far.

Links to their Funny Task: Madam Chaka/Sudoku task,
Number 1* - Urinating
Number 2* - Poo. Hehe.

Fuel My Blog

The seminar I attended last Friday was about the "Natural Eradication of Cardiovascular Diseases and Cancer". Our speaker is a Malaysian Naturopath Physician named Dr. Wong. He was a great speaker. Very enthusiastic and funny at the same time. He won't tell you his age... but he clearly looks "aged" but with no wrinkles. And he said he did not use Botox for it he just took what he suggested to us.

Basically he is under Dr. Rath Foundation. Dr. Rath wrote a book entitled "Why animals don't get heart attacks.... but people do?". In the book it is well detailed about how to eradicate cardiovascular diseases. He says all cases would succeed, if and only if they follow the protocol. Mind you, everything is natural this is without chemo and radiation.

-----------------------------------------

I'm inviting everyone to join Fuel My Blog, the great wall of blogs and get your chance to be the blog of the day like moi.

They have contests and all that, you can participate as well. I'm reviewing 24 season 5 and writing down their conversations. Have a great Sunday everyone! :)

I moved my Espresso Break to Wordpress instead. It's neat.

People Lie but Evidences do not.

WARNING! LONG CSI CONVERSATION

One of my favorite TV series is CSI. Although I dont watch it alone. I used to watch it alone... but lately.. some of the scenes are grossing me out. Nyahaha. But I still like it. I like CSI:Las Vegas better than Miami and New York. I like Grissom's role. He has a lot of "words of wisdom".

I often catch up with CSI in Studio23 or AXN, but lately I dont have much time. So, I just download them, and watch them every now and then if I feel like too. I like the humor of the cast in CSI:Las Vegas. I'll be posting some of the humorous conversations.

I like their sarcastic one-liners.

Sara: Excuse me. Is my evaluation interrupting you?
Grissom: No, I barely heard you.

Dr.Robbins: The leg was severed post-mortem.
Catherine: Well, that's good news.
Dr.Robbins: How do you figure?
Catherine: Would you want to be alive while your leg's being cut off?

Evans: [Pointing to an exotic dancer on stage] You dressed like that?
Catherine: If you want to call it dressed.

Sara: You're the one who said one piece of evidence is better than ten eyewitnesses.
Grissom: What, do you tape everything I say?

Grissom: You have empathy for her, Sara. You want someone to pay for what was done to her. That's normal.
Sara: You want to sleep with me?
Grissom: Did you just say what I think you did?
Sara: That way, when I wake up in cold sweat under the blanket, hearing Kaye's screams ... You can tell me it's nothing. It's just empathy.

Jail Inmate: Yo Grissom! [hits the inmate next to him] This guy is the reason I'm in here. A shoe print! [to Grissom] Yo next time I go barefoot!
Grissom: Even better, footprints.

[Grissom is licking rocks to see if they're bones]
Grissom: Could be a piece of wrist bone.
Catherine: Well, do you want to suck on it? To be sure?

[Grissom and Catherine are examining a head]
Grissom: Do you think a woman could've done this?
Catherine: I could.
[Grissom glances at her, then back to the head]
Grissom: Scared of you...

They often tease Grissom about his being single and all, and not going out with ladies or having no personal relationship because he is married to his work.

Catherine: Now tell me, why are we here?
Grissom: 'Cuz it's the only place within ten miles of Calville Bay that serves calamari.
Catherine: And you know this because...?
Grissom: I come here for calamari.
Catherine: Oh. Alone?
Grissom: No. Sometimes I have a beer with it.

Catherine: You're right, you know. I should be just like you. Alone in my hermetically sealed condo watching discovery on the big screen working genius- level crossword puzzles, but no relationships. No chance any will slop over into a case. Right. I want to be just like you.
Grissom: Technically, it's a townhouse. And the crosswords are advanced, not genius. But you're right. I'm deficient in a lot of ways. But I never screw up one of my cases with personal stuff.
Catherine: Grissom ... what personal stuff?

Grissom: What's the status?
Catherine: Skin samples from under the women's fingernails are consistent with Ed's. I saw some bruises. But Eddie's style has always been very... involved. Vigorous.
Grissom: ...Vigorous.
Warrick: She's trying to tell you Eddie likes it rough.
Catherine: Thank you, Warrick.

'[Grissom walks in with Dr. Gilbert, the female president of the School for the Deaf]
Sara: So that's why Grissom's late.
Warrick: You just don't like other women in his life.
Sara: I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that.

[Grissom wouldn't tell them how he learnt sign language]
Sara: [coming into the room] What was that all about? Grissom signs?
Warrick: What does Grissom drink when he goes out at night?
Sara: He goes out?
Warrick: Exactly. Who knows anything about that guy?

One of Grissom's attempt on a girl...

Grissom: I have a question
Teri: Ok?
Grissom: Since I screwed up our last date, would we ever have dinner again?
Teri: Oh we'll have dinner... just not together.

But no one could probably beat the cute-guy in the lab Greg (who is on the field right now and not a lab-guy anymore.)

Nick: Hey, Greg.
Greg: Shh. I might be looking at the mother of my children here.
Nick: Somebody's been putting in way too much overtime.
Greg: No, this is serious. I had a date last night. And this girl has the most impossible green eyes. Just, BAM. Shoulder-length blonde hair, intelligent. And she smells so good.
Nick: Cute toes?
Greg: Oh, ideal. And none longer than the big toe. Both feet. But you know I need to know what is on the inside.
Nick: What's in her heart?
Greg: No, her DNA. This girl has got some fine epithelials.
Nick: Dude, you're sick. Man, you have officially lost it.
Greg: There's a guy in Louisville, he charges 300 clams to test your spouse's underwear for foreign DNA. Now that guy is sick. I'm just a romantic.
Nick: Whatever happened to getting to know someone over coffee? Letting the relationship evolve. Romantic is sending flowers, not bogarting her skin cells.
Greg: Oh that's boring.

And the joke below is cute, and I tried it out with my friends too. Poor Nick

Grissom: Repeat after me, Silk silk silk.
Nick: Silk silk silk.
Grissom: Now what do cows drink?
Nick: Milk.
Grissom: They drink water. They produce milk.

Nick: Catherine. say, "Silk silk silk"
Catherine: Silk silk silk.
Nick: Now what do cows drink?
Catherine: Water. Why?
Nick: Never mind.

I also tried it out with Avy, Jona and Jesel. Avy got it right and so did Jona after a long pause.. (they were thinking). But Jesel's answer is funnier.

Jesel: I know it was water. But in my mind... I was debating whether the answer is water or grass.

Haha. Funny.

Sunny days and Rainy Nights

The heat is on. -_- It's soo sunny...but the heat is quite unbearable nowadays. Oh well, that's the sun.. we can't stop it from shining... i'll just enjoy basking under it until it lasts. Which reminds me of the song from Barney....

"Oh Mr. Sun Sun, Mr. Golden Sun.. please shine down on me... Oh Mr. Sun Sun, Mr. Golden Sun hiding behind the tree..."

My review for The Loop can be found here. I'm still checking out on what book to read next.

I just fixed Giovanne's blog layout, and I'm glad he liked it. Try visiting his blog... and he is still a first timer. So bear with him. :)

I watched an episode of CSI I downloaded months back. I dont have the time to watch.. and fortunately... awhile ago.. i tried watching one. It was about a Doctor and a Nurse. Very gory. Eekie. -_-

I will be leaving you with a long Grissom-lecture:

Grissom: Sad, isn't it doc? Guys like us. Couple of middle aged men who have allowed their work to consume their lives. The only time when we touch other people was when we were wearing our latex gloves. We wake up one day and we realise for 50 years, we are not really living at all. But then all of a sudden, we get a second chance. Somebody, young and beautiful shows up, somebody we could care about. She offers us a new life with her, but we have a big decision to make right? Because we have to risk everything we've worked for in order to have her. I couldn't do it, but you did. You risked it all, and she shared you a wonderful life, didn't she? But then she took it away, and gave it to somebody else, and you were lost. You took her life.. and you killed them both... and now you have nothing.

Doctor: I'm still here

Grissom: Are you?

It's Been Awhile..

I've been so busy, because exams were coming up and i wanted so much to finish some of my projects so i dont have to think about so many projects when the time comes. And now, exams are over i can finally blog! But not totally though.

Ever since last saturday, i soo much wanted to share about what i learned from our family gathering. The fathers were doing all the talking and one of them shared about the difference of Maturity and the opposite, the "immature".

He gave a great provocation to all the family members who can see themselves as the "immature" ones. He said an immature person, obviously is like a kid. When you were younger, you used to prepare yourself and you walk wherever you wished. On the other hand, a mature person just stretches his hands and wait for someone to prepare him/her (and i dont mean it literally, ok? To those who have eyes let them see, and to those who have ears let them hear.In short, READ BETWEEN THE LINES) and let that someone lead you to where you do not want to go. (refer to John Chapter 21 in the Bible.)

The above thought may seem confusing, but it brings light to what we are doing. It means, you have your own free will when you were younger, and is only concerned of yourself (immature), but you cant say that you are "mature" if you havent done any following. (I remember a line in the movie Drumline "You cannot Lead if you do not learn how to follow." Such simple words, but it has wisdom in it.) And usually when you follow "someone" specially a mentor or your father, it is hard, specially if they lead you to a place where you do not want to go. But that place, you dont know is the place where you should be, to find happiness and fulfillment. (Now, if you are consumed by the "earthly" things that surrounds you, you wouldnt understand a thing I'm saying.. so dont bother.) I know to most of you, this doesn't make sense. But to some, this would make sense. :) Just wanted to share this.

Anyhow, last sunday me and my parents watched 24 season 4(Courtesy of dwinny) we finished the series where we left of last last sunday. My Dad and Mom enjoyed the whole thing. And me too. The ending was sad though, and would make you wanna look forward for the next season. *sigh* My favorite part there was when Clowie went on the "field", which is soo un-Clowie-like. Coz she is mostly the techie girl and she is always in the headquarters. Anyhow, since one of the men of Marwan (the terrorist) came to assasinate them, Clowie managed to escape and locked herself and the other girl (the gf of a terrorist member) in a bulletproof car. And the terrorist keep shooting at them. Clowie called CTU, for backup and she was told where to get the extra gun inside the car (they have it, for emergencies). And then, when Clowie got hold of the gun she shot the terrorist (ratatatatatatatatat it was a machine gun i guess.) endlessly. That was my fave part. Hehe *go Clowie!*

I am saddened by Edgar's mom, Edgar tried to save her (from the nuclear meltdown) but her mom was left behind by the evacuees. *sigh* *huhuhuhu*

And i am annoyed by that selfish PRESIDENT of theirs! LOGAN!!! rawrrr! He is sooo pathetic. Really. If his thoughts are not of himself, it's the politics. It is good to think about your friendship with other countries but you have to analyze the sitch. Anyhow... the season was great!

<3 24 haha! :)
