2012: Changes and Issues

A lot of things has been emerging around the world today. Everybody knows 2012 is bringing something... to some it can be cataclysmic to others it will be glorious.

With the rise of the information technology..... you get different views from different people. I've been on a hunt as to what 2012 will bring for the past few months... What will happen at the end of this year? Will it be devastating?

But, as I searched and I searched I stumbled onto so many issues... that if I would have stayed in my pretty little bubble, I wouldn't have known about what is going on. I have given up the usual 7pm news 2 years ago and all the big media corporations because I know they are one form of "programming" the ones in "POWER" want us to be in. Media is focusing on issues that are irrelevant.... they keep us blind to what is really happening in the world.

Of course, searching online you also have to be cautious. Because, not everything you see, hear or read about are entirely true. However, I am very grateful that "alternative media" are already sprouting. Giving us information that is not available in mainstream media.

So, what are the pressing issues I stumbled upon?

  • Civil Society - Last year, I was following the "Occupy Movement" which got their inspiration from the "Arab Spring". It went from "Occupy Wall Street to Occupy Philippines, Occupy Earth, Occupy the Future to Occupy your Heart". It's amazing how our mainstream media is not talking about this... This was launched by the group Anonymous and a lot of things/groups/organizations sprang forth. But, one needs to find balance in protesting peacefully in the streets. So, a group of people are currently creating and starting initiatives that will sustain us in the future. Whenever I watch the videos of the Occupy Movement, I get mixed emotions... from rage to the 1% and the feeling of hope. Although, in the end.... I know that emotions that comes from love would be 100% times more powerful than rage.
  • Information Technology - With the rise of the machines, currently humans are making the "last machine to be invented by humans." If it will be invented... we will be deemed useless. And you can see it rising already. If we lose our humanity by treating people like machines.... then it wouldn't be LIFE at all. You can be amazed how some scientists are so advanced mentally that they begin to think "technology is everything". It will be another Atlantis. -_-
  • Internet - with the proposed SOPA/ACTA which censors our freedom of speech.... by merely posting a youtube video or music by a labeled artist, we could be sued and imprisoned for 50 years.
  • Unfair Laws - more and more laws that violates human rights are being passed. US Pres. Obama just signed NDAA last 2011. NDAA states that people can be imprisoned and tortured without due process, foreigners or civilians. Now, what if you were caught under the law of SOPA/ACTA and be under U.S. soil? -_- And the on going debate here in the Philippines about RH Bill and what not.
  • Environment - Climate Change. Global Warming to Sustainable Ecology. Solar Power. Coal-Fired Plant. Mining. Landslides. Flood. The debate goes on. Just follow Greenpeace, and other green advocaies.
  • Healthcare - Also, earlier last year I saw an issue about EU banning alternative healthcare such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic, and all those ancient healing traditions and will force you to only take "allopathic medicine". Alternative healthcare will be illegal
  • Economics - Actually the Occupy Movement tackled about issues in economics. How the money of the world is controlled by the 1%. And how more and more people are in debt due to unfair practices. And yeah the economy of other countries specially the super powers are tethering to the edge and they will create havoc to regain the power back.
  • Hyper Consumption - with the rise of various malls as "ground zero for materialism", people are lured into the world of consumerism. You have to buy this and that....
  • Energy - Coal-fired power plants. Nuclear plants. Increasing demand of energy and they need to bastardize the Earth to get it. For what? For money. o_O. And the suppression of the technology of Free Energy.
  • Values - what do we value now? It seems like people value money over people. To have more. Our society programs our people through print, tv ads, and with entertainers. We pay entertainers much more than we do our noble professions - such as educators... and priests...

And the list goes on... there are so many issues around.... locally and globally.
Which goes to show.. that 2012 is the moment where we are at the crossroads. Where humanity will choose which side to move forward to.

The old ways are clearly not working. All large institutions are going through changes and transitions (economics, politics). There are so many things happening... internally (within each one of us) and externally (polar shift and galactic alignment).... time seems to fly by.....

with all my search... I think nobody really knows what will happen on 2012. The people in POWER (1%) got their own schemes on how to keep their money and power....
All i know is that we need to be prepared... not out of fear.... but out of love. How?

By going back to yourself... listen to your heart.... listen to your inner voice. Follow your intuition. Ask for divine guidance..... Stay grounded, connected to Mother Earth, always do clearing and before going out of your home... "shield yourself".

There will be lots of changes... local ones... devastating sometimes... sometimes giving us hope.... This is an intense year..... and everyone feels it....
whether it will be a challenging one for you or something glorious... it is up to you....

all i know is that the community I am in is gearing towards a sustainable future, something that starts with personal mastery...... and to tap into our Creative Self that is hibernating or sometimes covered by our "programmed self".....

should you want to connect with a community.... do tell me... I can suggest a few available in your city. :)

What's the Rave?

Hulloh! How is everybody doing?

I've noticed that it seems like I am making a career out of posting a blogpost once a month!

My days are sometimes swarmed with activities that sometimes I just wanna head off the beach and go enjoy the waves while reading a book.

Last weekend, I attended the District Assembly of Rotaractors and Interactors here in Davao for District 3860. It went well. It's great that they invited Ms. Joji Ilagan Bian to be the guest speaker which proved to be very inspiring among students which composed a majority of the audience.

The recently concluded pre-Kadayawan event "Cycle For Life" and the "Dream Davao" exhibit at People's Park went well. Although with so little time to plan a week-long event we fell short of our expectations. Meaning there were more "something could've worked better" ideas than what we did. But, despite the many "firsts" and recent "learnings", one thing we gained at the event was having the bond. of just having known each other for a month to come together for a specific purpose of calling various individuals and organizations who wants to make Davao better. oh di ba? diretso field.

Photo: Sorry don't know who took this picture. Pls. contact me lang if this is yours and ill place the credit. thanks.

For RACMPD (Rotaract Club of Munting Pag-Asa Davao), we also had our first ever fundraising bazaar during Kadayawan. We were selling baked goodies and all proceeds will go to our club and mostly to support Kythe Foundation*.

But, Tina, you might ask... all work and no play? Of course not!

In between the busy-ness of many "for the world" events..... I managed to meet up with my College Buds and High School Chums....in between the events I am in (i invite them!) and also having separate get-togethers...

one during the birthday of my godson to which i am the fairy godmama! HAHAHA. and one of our friend is pregggy!!! another godson in the making. Vavavroooom!!

also our high school chum meet-up was simply that.... get together to talk about what's up with our own lives...

How about family??? Sometimes I managed to stay at home one day after the event... and sometimes i'd drag my brother and sister to help me out in the booth which they are supporting me with....and i'd help out with dad and mom with their recent garden... which i will post pictures of soon... :)

it's September.... and more life-changing events which i will impart soon!

With so much love,

Tina

P.S. HAPPPYYYY BIRTHDAY To my beloved Aunt... Aunt Tita!!!!!!!LOVE YOU!!!! She reads my blog.... most of the time. :)

Golden Earth Hour.

Today marks a special day... not only because it is Earth Hour, a cause we have been actively participating on for three years with the world.

Tonight we will do it early. So, it will be more than an hour. We will have a candlelight dinner... to make way for the golden.. jubilee celebration of my mom's birthday. Although, she'd prefer a SILVER FOREVER theme.

To my mom..... ahhh words are not enough...... basta my heart is filled with her love. Although... we can be considered as arch enemies here at home. Hehehe. With our constant arguing.. and all that.

To my mom who hates surprises.... but we try... hahaha. but she ends up surprising us... during our birthdays. Grabe.

And of course it is also my parent's 27th Wedding Anniversary!

So yeah..... it's a wonderful event for our family today....

a celebration of a wonderful golden life..... lived by my mom...

a celebration of a love that would last a lifetime....

and a celebration of our light to the world....... (Earth Hour)... letting it shine.....

for Life, Love and Light...... may it live forever. =)

Start Fast & Finish Strong

Huwaaaatt? January is coming to an end in a few days??? Oh dear. How fast time flies!

A lot of things have happened lately to me, and as I'm guessing everyone's daily conquest in life are pretty challenging these days. Right? (*assumes you just said: yes!* ). And it's not a challenge that could make you go "huhu" but some challenge that can make you go: "hurrah!!".

Well, I heard 2011 is going to be a fantabulous year for everybody. That is if you don't hesitate by grabbing the "fabulous" prophecy and stepping inside the tiny or if you are really "highly favored" HUGE doors of opportunities opening.

Guys! It aint a singular thing.. it's plural.. so there's more in store!

2010 was a year of letting go of the baggage's, past emotions, and childhood dramas. It was a rocky year for me. And I'm sure to most of the people I know they have felt the changes last year in a hard way, because they themselves told me. We've gone through a lot last year! The whole topsy turvy emotions we've been having. It went by sooo fast I hardly had enough time to breathe!!!!

2011 is deemed to be a year for moving forward, stepping into the magic and making it fabulous! haha. Okay. I sound so Kimora-ish. Now, they say.... if a certain past emotion surfaces this year... one should celebrate! Because, it's a sign of sweating/urinating/eliminating the negative emotions that doesn't serve you this year. So, don't beat yourself up if you are still feeling the 2010 baggages... just celebrate!!!!

Guyyyyyssssssssss let's all START FAST and FINISH STRONG!!!

Key points to remember for this year (according to Doreen Virtue):

*Opportunities will be flowing this year. Do not hesitate. He who hesitates is lost.
*It's time to GO GREEN! And not just by words but by deeds. I'm doing it more consciously now.. although I still have to get the hang of it. Saving as much water. Place the plastic bottles on the recycling bin. Turning off the lights and all forms of electricity when not in use.
* For those of you who are LIGHTWORKERS... it's time for you to get involved in the government. Go go go. Spread light and love.

Hurrrah!!! move along ... move along!!! :)
